About 50 Overseas’ Directors covering Asia-Pacific, Europe, Americas and the Middle East attended the session that was chaired by Director-General of Tourism Malaysia YBhg Dato’ Mirza Mohammad Taiyab. His deputy for promotion YBhg Dato’ Azizan Noordin, and Tourism Malaysia senior management also attended the presentation.
This is part of the on-going and concerted efforts undertaken by PFSB to promote the 2015 FLORIA Putrajaya Flower and Garden Festival locally as well as abroad. The Overseas’ Directors were given an insight into what Royal FLORIA will be offering the visitor this time around.
Malaysia is in an excellent position to further improve its standing as one of the world’s top global destinations, given its abundant tourist destinations. Already Malaysia is the ninth most visited country in the world. The country’s receipts of RM1 billion per week from tourists ranks Malaysia 13th globally in terms of tourist’s receipts. The sector was the sixth largest contributor to the Malaysian economy and the second largest foreign exchange earner after manufactured goods.
Following the success of seven previous flower shows and with the 8th edition in May this year, Royal FLORIA Putrajaya is on the right and firm track of putting Malaysia on the international map of renowned flower shows.
Themed ‘Tapestry of Hues’, Royal FLORIA Putrajaya, promises a dazzling and flamboyant display of flowers and gardens including an exhibition of lilies totaling 150 species in specially designed gardens from 30th May until 7th June 2015.
The flower and garden festival is hosted by Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPj) with the cooperation of the Ministry of Federal Territories and supported by Tourism Malaysia in promoting it locally and abroad. The event will be held at its permanent grounds in Precinct 4 known as Anjung Floria.
