The surau for Precinct 9 is designed to capture similar architectural qualities of the Surau at Presint 8 with variations to the open plan concept. The building was inspired by 'Kampung Laut' Mosque at Nilam Puri, Kelantan with its distinctive tiered roof form.

Components of this surau include the Entrance Vestibule, Ancillary Building and the Surau proper. The Ancillary Building comprises Multipurpose Hall, quarters for the Imam & Naqib and the Ablution Area. The surau is located to the North of the site and surrounded by landscaped area. The surau can accommodate approximately 250 worshippers within the main prayer area divided from the verandah by sliding doors, that when fully open will allow maximum natural ventilation. The main prayer area has a high timber ceiling to reflect traditional architecture. The surau compound is not fenced to be in harmony with the surrounding residential area of Precinct 9.

The surau has been fully operational since 6 November 2002.
